'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Galbraith continues clash with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith breaks into a smile as he reminisces about the thrilling final moments of his team's remarkable turnaround win against Nottingham Forest in the League Cup. The encounter wrapped up with Galbraith picking up a spectator's eyewear after the on-field celebration.

During the final moments of stoppage time, Galbraith struck the post with a long-range shot from 25 yards, and Cameron Burgess promptly slammed home the deflection before racing off toward the home end to revel in the moment, with supporters congregating around the players.

Stunning Reversal

This capped an unbelievable recovery given the team had trailed 2-0 midway through the second half. During the delirium, there was some minor mishaps. The midfielder recalled, "There was a supporter trying to get our attention and we were puzzled: 'What's he on about here?' Then we spotted the glasses. It was a funny incident putting them on. We are on the pitch as footballers but we're people, too, so to have a bit of craic with the fans is always good."

Manchester City Challenge

The result earned a upcoming fixture at home against Pep Guardiola's side on Wednesday, a club Galbraith pushed hard at the comparable phase of the FA Cup with Leyton Orient in February. The athletic midfielder had an excellent perspective when the underdogs took the lead in remarkable manner, with a teammate's first-time shot from about long distance going in via the bar and the City goalkeeper. It seems unfair that it was credited as an own goal.

"You would have wished they would've given it to him for attempting the shot from that far out," stated Galbraith, who began the game centrally before moving to right flank after the team changed formation. That meant facing off against the England international, with whom he exchanged jerseys, and the attacker was among the opposition who complimented the way the underdogs attacked the game.

Guardiola's System

"Physically they are very good but even the basics and routine actions, they can just execute repeatedly," Galbraith says. "It appears that they always find their target and they know how to manage and take the sting out of a game. You can feel you're all right and then suddenly they will just deliver a through ball between defenders without you even seeing. You have to be alert at all times of the game. It requires a strong mentality and attention just to stay in the game."

Welsh Transition

The Welsh side sought to acquire Galbraith in January and beat off competition to sign him in the summer in a seven-figure transfer. He made a name as a popular figure across multiple campaigns at Leyton Orient and has swiftly achieved similar status in his new home. At his previous team he reunited with the coach, who previously gave Galbraith his debut prolonged spell in first-team action on loan at his loan club from Old Trafford. Then came a loan at lower division Salford, before he departed Manchester United.

Growth Journey

"I was likely a somewhat inexperienced going into men's football. I think many athletes would say development squad matches is very different. Sometimes it seems play is circulated without real physicality. You see few tackles or duels. Once you start playing professional matches you have to learn quickly."

Country Call-ups

He has demonstrated that maturation for both domestically and internationally, excelling for his national side, who are fighting to qualify for the international competition next summer via the playoffs and for whom he has featured in the recent fixtures, including two matches encounters against Germany. His former international manager, Galbraith's former international manager, paid him the supreme accolade, saying he was Northern Ireland's "midfield general" given how he controls possession and his knack for a killer pass.

Starting Out

This represents an incredible journey for the kid from the local area in the Belfast suburb, just outside Northern Ireland's main city, who grew up watching his father, his father, also a midfielder, play for Ballyclare Comrades.

Old Trafford Memory

His single match for the Red Devils came in Kazakhstan in 2019, a European competition trip to Astana, where they featured on an synthetic surface and the stadium roof was shut owing to conditions of -15C. "It was a long trip and it was chilly," he comments, smiling. "The week before, the academy prospects practiced as a group, so that assisted our preparation. Just to join the main group and get a couple of minutes at the end was amazing."

Departing Old Trafford

What was the challenge was it to move on from Old Trafford, the club he transferred from aged a teenager? "The decision proved relatively straightforward, because I got to the stage where I knew I couldn't establish myself at the senior squad. I'm very appreciative for the time I spent there but it got to the point where I felt I needed to go my own route, join a smaller club and play first-team games. Now I'm gradually working my way back up."

Welsh Adaptation

This occurs during the middle of the day at Swansea's Fairwood training base but Galbraith has somewhere to be at late afternoon: a driving theory test, another progress toward getting on the road. Before his recent move to the local area, the 24-year-old was a regular in Swansea's dubbed fun bus, a small coach driven by academy staff, the drivers, which shuttles players to and from practice and games.

"My companions include a teammate, Ronald, an Ivorian player – the Swedish defender used to be in it but has got his license. It's nice to spend time with the teammates but I'm aiming to be the next one to drive independently and behind the wheel. Franco is known for his humor; he's frequently playing tricks."

Public Engagement

While playing for Orient, Galbraith would travel alongside fans on public transport after beginning his trip at the area he lived in. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
